Green Spot Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (750 ml)

Green Spot is a non age statement Pot Still Irish whiskey and is comprised of Pot Still whiskeys aged between 7 and 10 years. The whiskey has matured in a combination of new bourbon and refill bourbon casks as well as sherry casks.

The names of 'Spot' whiskeys originated from the Mitchell family’s practice of marking casks of different ages with a daub of colored paint. There was a ‘Blue Spot’, ‘Red Spot’ and even a ‘Yellow Spot’, but Green Spot emerged as their most popular whiskey and is one of the few “whiskey bonder brands” to survive to modern day.

Tasting Notes: 

• Nose: Warm, sweet, barley heavy pot still with notes of caramel, butterscotch, orchard fruit and some dried berries. A light spice and agave syrup come through towards the end.
• Palate: The barley heavy pot still character is a bit lighter here than on the nose, but still very present along with notes of dried fruit, caramel, spice and honey drizzled granola. Some light notes of tangerine like citrus zest come and go
• Finish: Long and malty with notes of fruit, dark sweets and a touch of oak.
